New Sign of the Thymes

This is our new sign for our new year and our
up and coming bakery/garden shop and down the
road, cooking school. My husband is
constructing the post as I write this and I can't
wait until it is out front surrounded by new
seasonal edible(herbs) landscaping, some enchanted
garden art and maybe a hidden garden troll for luck!
And the lost will be lost no more!
I will be adding a few hand painted embellishments
to this sign before it goes up. Stop by to see!

New ways to use up apples and
pumpkin for the fall and winter season!
We are still in the taste testing stage for these
scrumptioso treats, and
have one picked out for sure.
Sorry, can't reveal until the final okay!
We will keep everyone posted!
In the mean time you can still get other great
scone mixes at either of our shops.
Don't forget the Tea!

Gluten Free Pancakes are on the Way!

Blueberry, Spiced Pecan,
Cherry Chocolate Walnut,
Carrot Cake?
These sound like muffins not pancakes!
Well why not! We all love muffins and pancakes for breakfast but
only if they have wholesome ingredients and are low in fat and
calories and they must contain whole grain and flaxseed meal! Right!
Top these babies with low glycemic Agave nectar and a side of fresh fruit
and you'll scarf these down (slowly) faster than you can say "More Please!"
I will be carrying these in my shop this fall and in my Etsy shop as well.

Veganated YES! Hydrogenated NO!

Non of my Granolas contain any hydrogenated ingredients.
Never have & never will!
In fact, I'm always trying new was to improve healthy bakes so that
everyone can enjoy them. I already cater to the needs of the Vegans out there
and would also like to do the same for those with food allergies.
Gluten Free bakes are on the way!
I know that there are not a lot of choices out there for gourmet mixes
for those people so I feel the need to help them out.
Wish me luck!

Better than Dessert!

Using fresh herbs from our gardens....
and creating wonderful whole wheat artisan breads.......

toasting or grilling with cheese, pesto butter, and veggies.
Yes, I would rather have a snackwich than a sweet dessert!
These breads are available at Mutach's in Marblehead Ohio,
Fremont, Genoa, and Port Clinton Farmers markets
and of course our little garden shop!
We ship our breads too if ya ever get a hankering!

Sunday Dessert

I was working out in the gardens today and was too tired to
cook dinner so we all ordered Applebee's salads. But I had to run
to the grocery first for a couple of things and dessert was going to be
one of them. I had to get milk and some cheese for the cooking demo
this Thursday and by the time I was back home eating my salad,
I looked at my husband & suddenly realized I had forgotten
the most important item! Oh noooo. No sweets for my sweet!
I told him I would make him some yummy
cheesecake! He said, "Just make some happy brownies."
I made both! He is so spoiled!
This is a lowfat, caramel chocolate chip cheesecake with a extra thick
crust of graham cracker, toasted almond and flaxseed meal.
I can't wait until tomorrow!

Cravin Corn Bread

I love cornbread, who doesn't! And I've been trying to create a vegan version of
my moms old recipie. Using bacon drippings, milk and egg does not appeal to me
for a recipie so simply made with cornmeal, flour, soymilk, baking powder, and of course
my favorite....the add ins! Super sweet corn, jalapenos, cumin, chili powder, and
mexican oregano. This is so moist and chock full of yum!
Just in time for those last cold days of spring with a bowl of vegetarian chili!

Giving up the Cookie......

I have decided to start a Cookie-A-Month Giveaway
to get more peeps on the healthy breakfast, healthy snackin train!
Now I am, as my friends know, a very generous
kinda gal and I want to spread the healthy bakes
word any way I can. I know they try their darndest
to help me but I don't expect them to give
away all of their cookies! So - I will just have to give up one
cookie that I would normally call MINE! And give it to
someone out there that needs it more than me r maybe we'll say
you just want a taste! haha I think I have something here!
Good now that that's settled lets get started>
Come on over & make a comment on my blog, food, anything please!
Just get over here and then tell all of your friends to get over here too!
Who ever makes the most entertaining comment gets the cookie FREEE!
Oh! Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip is the flave of the month! Yummo!
Winner will be selected at the end of the month.

chock full'a good for ya apples, topped with a
flaxseed meal streusel for dessert!
This apple bread is my hubby's favorite.

St. Patty's Day Inspiration

So far the Scone Mixes have been doing well and I was once again brain storming up new flavors and wanted something green! Not the food colored or veg filled kind! I was thinking something cute and green like a tiny mint chocolate chip! Mint Chocolate Chip Scones served with a cup of peppermint tea anyone? Loverly for a St. Patty's Day Tea or a gift to your Irish friends.

I can't wait to get started!

One of my cookie foodie followers has reminded me of my absent mindedness about posting the Breakfast Cookie of the month. Hopefully I will
have her or others to help me remember this!
Since I have been so inspired by the GREEN I will just have to bake a batch of the Mint Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookies in hopes that
this will help my memory!
For a quick reminder to you (& myself) you can order 1 or a dozen of these for 2.50 a piece. Just in time for St. Patty's Day! (& thru the month of March)

Lovely India Sweets

These Rose and Cardamom Leaf Cookies were very good! Studded with pistachios and rose petals they look pretty too! Because of my love for plants I decided to take this traditional cookie from India and changed it up to make it look more botanical. (These are usually just made into rounds.) There is only one left and I am saving it for dessert later!

My Troubles over Truffles

Well I have to say, my only trouble is not being able to eat them because they are for someone else! Okay I may have nibbled one or two but that was obviously for taste testing!

These decadent babies will get you your cocoa fix in one little bite! The Ghirardelli Chocolate was infused with Summer Kitchen peach tea and then bits of dried turkish apricots were added to some and a mixture of dried rasberries, apricot, pineapple, cherries, cranberries, & currants to another and then I infused the last batch with the Summer Kitchen Blend tea and added coconut & macadamia nuts and coated them all with semi sweet chocolate! You can get them for your sweety this week at Crazy Dog Coffee Co. They are so rich and cocoa is soooo good for you. These have 75% cocoa. Healthy Hearts bring Strong Love! Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

Treat your Canine Sweety to these Cuties!

I like to bake for all mammals!
These treats use to please my dog Sadie before she passed away this last November. (I miss her so. She lived 13 healthy years.) I was watching the Ukanuba Champion Dog show today and I've got my eye on the cute little Welsch Corgy!
My husband & I are planning on adopting another great dog into our family this coming spring. Biscuit making days are not over for this dog lover!

Sunning Bay and Aloe

New Biscotti!

This is a new and wonderful full flavored biscotti - Rosemary Almond
You can tast the rosemary and deep flavor of the toasted almonds. No butter either! Healthy & delicioso!

Czech Braided Bread

My family loves this one - and I only make it around the holidays. It is similar in taste to the traditional Italian Panetonne!
This bread is so soft and just slightly sweet.
So good toasted with a marmelade butter! Yum
